Christmas Card Time Again....

Well it's that time again, one that not everyone is aware of and some are already ahead of the season...
Yep, it's the famous Christmas Card Season.  There are some that have already signed, sealed and stamped the cards for the post box on either midnight Thanksgiving eve or the Black Friday Rush.  Then there are those like myself that are running behind and just designing them and printing them off....BUT that's just for one group.  I have two other groups that I have to design and address.  I don't want to seem too eager to get them out.

I had fun today getting "the girls"(Liberty & Freedom's cards) designed and printed.  I think they came out pretty cute.  We belong to a group on www.Dogster.com called the Bodacious Bullmastiffs and we have a Christmas card exchange each year.  It's great to get the cards.  We hang them up with all the other cards we receive....and  of course I keep them because it's fun to look back and how our friends have grown and remember our fur-ends that aren't with us but have left paw prints in our hearts.

Next are ones for my dad who is in a senior living facility.  I have the envelopes addressed and ready to stuff all I need to do is print off his picture and put the card together and send them out.
Then comes Jim's and mine.  Not sure what we want to do with that one yet.  I've had a few Ideas and .....oh wait....just got another one in my head....GREAT!  More to choose from...oy!

Christmas gifts are going to be all homemade this year b/c I've been out of work since I had a total hip replacement in late September....but it has to heal then I can go back to work most likely at the beginning of the new year.  Then in the Spring have the other hip operated on for the same surgery....YEAAA!!!

Well I better get back to that task at hand and start designing my cards.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving dinners and remember to "count your many blessing and count them one by one...."

Our neighbor's wreath hanging across their deck.
I watched them decorate it earlier this morning.
I just wish I hand my camera handy then.

Welcome to The Greene's Little House of Fun

I've never really had a formal blog before...I don't think FB as a blog....it has reconnected me with family and friends that I haven't seen or heard from in a very LONG time.

I call this our little house of fun because our house is kinda small and we have a lot of fun within these walls.    We have been married for 13 years but have not blessed with children of our own.  We have been blessed with our little girls, Jam, Liberty & Freedom, our bullmastiffs.  Jam blessed our lives for 9 years.  Liberty and Freedom rescued us from our broken hearts after Jam's departure from this earthly life.

Our little house of fun comprises it self of Jim, my husband: school bus driver, Vol. firefighter/Batt. Chief, best friend, eternal sweetheart.  Me; wife, school secretary, fire district photographer, daughter.  And our two sweet Bullmastiffs that have rescued our hearts and make us laugh on a daily basis.  Liberty, our little angel-heart, protector, needy, lap dog, lover.  Freedom is our most recent rescue; goofy, full of life, playful puppy at heart.

Our home is small, full of love, laughter and warmth.

Welcome.

.....and I think......

Here I sit on a gray, windy, fall day with a lovely little head cold and think and ponder and think and......

I wonder down to the laundry room to put jeans in and take things out and I think....oooo hot chocolate. I wonder to the kitchen, get out the milk, grab two packets of SwissMiss (b/c milk makes it richer...and healthier)  Pour the milk, put it in the microwave, tare open the packet.... and I think ....

I have hands like my mother.  It's the only thing I have left that truly reminds me of my mom.  They were so soft and gentle AND talented.  She could play the honky tonk, knit, crochet and comfort. OH how I miss her  beautiful hands.  She would touch my face and hair and comfort me as a child and as a grown woman.  I held her hand on a beautiful Spring day she died as she told me she loved me.  OH how I miss her smile that showed in through her Irish eyes.  I now understand the words, "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling".  And the blessing of hearing the last words spoken, "I love you too" as she smiled at me.  and I think...

...Can dogs get chapped lips?  I think Liberty has chapped lips but only at the corners.... and I think....

.....I would like to tether the girls outside on this windy day and see if they would fly...lol...and I think.....

What I would like to do to the house to because I've been looking all these blogs about how these crafty women have renovated, come up with to beautify their homes and how talented they are.  And as I look through these blogs I think.....

How very blessed I am with a wonderful husband, two adorable dogs, a warm home and parents that love me... and I think.....
